Felix Banaszak uses taxi driving as Green Party campaign tactic
Felix Banaszak, co-leader of the German Green Party, has launched a unique campaign tactic by acting as a taxi driver to engage directly with voters. Through a dedicated website, citizens can request rides to discuss political issues, with Banaszak even offering to assist with routine tasks like shopping or transporting mattresses.
The campaign comes ahead of September elections in Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In the latter two states, the Green Party is currently polling near the five percent threshold required to enter state parliaments. In Berlin, the party's support is estimated between 15 and 19 percent.
Banaszak also used the occasion to criticize the AfD, characterizing the party as antidemocratic, unconstitutional, right-wing extremist, and partially fascist.
