Felix charity pledges to redistribute 175,000 portions of produce in the UK

Food redistribution charity Felix has announced plans to rescue and redistribute 175,000 portions of fruit and vegetables across the UK by 2026. This initiative aims to combat food waste and support families facing cost-of-living pressures.

As part of this effort, Felix has partnered with B. fresh, BerryWorld, and Strawsons to launch ‘Berry Heroes Smoothies’. These products are made from surplus berries and carrots that were nutritious but unsuitable for standard redistribution. Funded by Alliance Food Sourcing (AFS), the project has already rescued over eight tonnes of produce to create an initial run of 20,000 bottles.

Additionally, the charity is working with innocent drinks to expand its reach. The partnership focuses on increasing access to fresh produce, following volunteer efforts where staff helped rescue 2.7 tonnes of apples from orchards to prevent them from going to waste.
