Felix Gall targets Grand Tour victory after winning Austrian Athlete of the Year

Austrian cyclist Felix Gall has been named Austrian Athlete of the Year, marking the conclusion of his most successful professional season. Following his second NIKI-Award win in Vienna, Gall expressed his ambition to win a Grand Tour in the future, noting that while it is an extremely difficult goal, it serves as a primary motivator.

Gall, who recently secured second place in the Giro d'Italia and third in the Vuelta a España, identified time trialing as a key area for improvement during the upcoming winter months. He aims to close the gap between himself and top competitors such as Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard.

Looking ahead to the next season, Gall will transition to the Lidl-Trek team. He emphasized that the Tour de France remains his highest priority due to its significant prestige, though his participation in the upcoming edition is not yet confirmed.
