Felix Åkerlund shares stalker experience and launches anti‑stalking lectures in Sweden

Felix Åkerlund, a 32‑year‑old from Skellefteå, Sweden, received anonymous threatening text messages for several years. The sender was later identified as his best female friend, who was subsequently convicted of illegal stalking, defamation and impersonating a public official. The case was featured in the 2023 SVT documentary series “Dokument inifrån: Stalker”. After the documentary aired, Åkerlund was contacted by the National Police’s Operational Department (NOA) and began giving lectures to police officers, criminologists and, later, teachers. He now runs his own firm that provides these anti‑stalking presentations while continuing therapy and coping with lasting distrust.

Åkerlund says the police initially dismissed his complaints, but the recent collaboration aims to raise awareness of the gaps in understanding stalking and its impact. The story highlights ongoing challenges in addressing digital harassment and the need for better support for victims in Sweden.
