Felix Rosenqvist earns record $4.34 million for winning 2026 Indianapolis 500

The 110th Indianapolis 500, held in Indianapolis, set a new financial benchmark as the total purse reached $30,906,400, the highest in the event’s history for the fifth consecutive year. First‑time winner Felix Rosenqvist of Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian received a record‑breaking $4.34 million, surpassing all previous winner payouts.

The average driver payout for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES rose to $936,500, up from $596,500 the year before. The race featured a back‑to‑back sellout crowd – the largest attendance since the centennial in 2016 – and produced the most lead changes ever recorded, culminating in the closest finish in Indy 500 history.

INDYCAR and IMS President J. Douglas Boles highlighted the milestone, noting the event’s historic growth in both fan attendance and prize money.
