FEMAFOOT addresses suspicious betting reports involving AS Korofina

The Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) has responded to a communiqué from AS Korofina regarding allegations of suspicious betting activity. FEMAFOOT President Mahazou dit Baba Cisset clarified that his recent statements were made in his official capacity to protect the integrity of national competitions.

The federation cited official reports from the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) concerning a match between Afrique Football Elite and AS Korofina. The IBIA report identified suspicious and seemingly coordinated betting activity, specifically noting a 5-3 scoreline and several associated markets. The report suggested potential involvement from both teams.

FEMAFOOT emphasized that these findings do not constitute a judgment of guilt or a formal accusation of fraud against AS Korofina. The matter has been referred to the Independent Ethics Commission, which will conduct hearings and examine available evidence in accordance with current regulations.
