Female artists lead international autumn museum exhibitions
Major international museums are featuring prominent female artists in their autumn programming. At the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, an exhibition dedicated to Remedios Varo explores her fusion of mysticism, science, and mythology through over 70 works, including paintings and drawings.
In Tokyo, the Mori Art Museum will host ‘All That Shines’ starting October 31, a retrospective of Mariko Mori’s career in collaboration with the Guggenheim Foundation. The exhibition focuses on light and introspection through approximately forty works.
In the United Kingdom, the Tate Britain will open ‘The 90s: Art and Fashion’ on October 8. This exhibition examines the creative explosion of British culture during the 1990s, featuring influential figures such as Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Vivienne Westwood, and Alexander McQueen.
Additionally, in Mallorca, Spain, the Centre Cultural La Misericòrdia is hosting ‘La ferida de la llengua LA_LANGUE’ by artist Nora Ancarola. Curated by Jaume Reus, the project explores themes of language and geographic displacement through video installations and objects, running until November 15.
