Female authors present new literary works in Senegal and Burkina Faso
In Senegal, the Dakar Women's Book Fair concluded with the presentation of ‘À Contre-Plumes’, a collective short story collection published by Le Fil d’Ariane. The volume features ten female authors who participated in a creative writing residency. The stories range from allegorical tales about footwear to speculative fiction set in Dakar in 2056, exploring themes of female identity, social roles, and the human condition.
In Burkina Faso, journalist and writer Mariam Vanessa Touré held a book signing for ‘Hummm… Et si la vie continue’ at the Centre Culturel du Faso in Ouagadougou. Published by Mercury Éditions, the 315-page work consists of approximately sixty chronicles. The book draws on the author's personal experiences with illness and social observation to discuss resilience, marriage, parenting, and overcoming adversity.
