Female burglary gang targets homes in Varkiza and Dafni, Greece

Three women formed a burglary gang that entered a house in the Athens suburb of Varkiza during the summer holidays. They rang the doorbell, confirmed the occupants were away, forced the lock and looted the property within about 15 minutes, repeating the method at duplexes.

In a separate incident captured on CCTV, a burglar broke the front door of a café in the Athens district of Dafni with his foot, emptied the cash register, stole a wireless speaker and fled. Police note a sharp rise in burglaries during the vacation season and urge residents to stay vigilant and authorities to increase patrols in affected neighborhoods.
