Female leadership initiatives target gender gaps in Brazil
Efforts to increase female representation in leadership roles are gaining momentum in Brazil through specialized training and mentorship programs.
Todas Group, founded by Dhafyni Mendes, has identified self-confidence, strategic communication, positioning, and emotional high performance as key skills for advancing women's careers. The group's training initiatives have resulted in measurable outcomes, including a 50% increase in women in senior leadership positions within participating companies. These efforts coincide with recent Brazilian legislation, such as the Equal Pay Law and expanded paternity leave, aimed at reducing the impact of maternity on professional trajectories.
In the insurance sector, the association Sou Segura has launched a new mentorship program to address a significant gender gap. Data from Susep indicates that while women make up 54.4% of the workforce in surveyed insurance and pension companies, they hold only 28.5% of executive management roles and 18.5% of board seats. The Sou Segura initiative will form 60 mentor-mentee pairs to provide practical professional development and bridge the gap between corporate diversity policies and concrete leadership changes.
