FEMAR concludes 2026 educational cycle for maritime culture

The Fundação de Estudos do Mar (FEMAR) has concluded its 2026 cycle for the Projeto Escola, an initiative designed to connect public school students with Brazilian maritime culture.

During the cycle, the project reached 1,624 children across 25 schools and civil society organizations in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. The program provided educational content regarding maritime history and the concept of ‘Amazônia Azul’ (Blue Amazon) through a combination of classroom engagement and field trips.

Key activities included 48 visits to the Naval Museum and the Marinha Cultural Space, as well as 16 itinerant actions. The cycle concluded on September 16 with an event at the Ginásio Educacional Tecnológico Floriano de Brito in Campo Grande, involving 75 students from the 4th and 5th grades.
