Entre Ríos medical federation suspends inpatient consultations amid OSER dispute
The Medical Federation of Entre Ríos (Femer) has implemented a temporary suspension of medical consultations during hospitalizations for members of the Obra Social de Entre Ríos (OSER). The federation claims the measure is a response to unjustified deductions in medical fees for services provided during June and July 2026, noting that previous attempts to resolve these discrepancies through meetings failed to produce a solution.
OSER has contested these claims, stating that the deductions are not arbitrary but result from audit inconsistencies. The health provider reported detecting errors in Femer’s billing, including non-existent practice codes, missing documentation, late submissions, and potential duplications of surgical interventions. OSER clarified that while inpatient stays and surgeries remain unaffected, the Femer measure specifically impacts consultations performed by federation-affiliated professionals.
Political tension has also emerged, with members of the Juntos por Entre Ríos bloc criticizing the provincial government and the PJ party over the management of the health provider. Meanwhile, the Justicialist Party (PJ) has called for urgent solutions to ensure healthcare continuity for OSER’s approximately 300,000 affiliates, citing concerns over administrative conflicts and delays in payments to caregivers.
