Femi Azeez named to PFA Championship Team of the Year

Millwall forward Femi Azeez has been named to the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Championship Team of the Year following his performance in the 2025/26 season. Azeez recorded 11 league goals and eight assists in 35 appearances, contributing to 19 total goal involvements.

Azeez’s club success coincided with his rise in the international arena, earning him a senior call-up to the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles. He made an immediate impact on his international debut, scoring twice against Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup.

Azeez joins a lineage of Nigerian players recognized by the PFA in English football, including Efe Sodje, who earned a place in the Division Three Team of the Year in 2003–04, Sam Sodje in the 2005–06 League One Team of the Year, and Danny Shittu in the 2007–08 Championship Team of the Year.
