Feminist groups call for unity ahead of November 25 demonstrations
Activists are calling for feminist unity ahead of the November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The movement aims to present a united front against right-wing and far-right political forces that are perceived to be obstructing social progress.
In the Community of Madrid, specific concerns have been raised regarding the management of women's rights. These include insufficient budget allocation for combating gender violence and institutional denial of the issue. Additionally, reports indicate a systematic blockade of abortion rights; of the 21,331 voluntary interruptions of pregnancy performed in the region in 2025, only 92 occurred in public hospitals, representing approximately 0.43% of the total. There are also concerns regarding inaction against human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
