Femke Broeders-Bol targets Van Damme Memorial after record run

Dutch athlete Femke Broeders-Bol enters the Van Damme Memorial in Brussels with increased confidence following a strong performance at the Diamond League in Zurich. During the Zurich race, Broeders-Bol led for much of the 800-meter event and finished with a new Dutch record of 1:54.71, finishing just 0.7 seconds behind European champion Audrey Werro.

Broeders-Bol noted that her transition to the 800-meter distance has been smoother than expected, though she acknowledged the need to improve her conditioning. She expressed that her recent racing experiences have helped her trust her tactical abilities and move beyond her comfort zone.

The upcoming event in Brussels also features other prominent Dutch athletes, including Lieke Klaver in the 400 meters and Nadine Visser in the 100-meter hurdles.
