FEMSA delivers 12,000 hygiene kits to flood‑hit communities in Chile’s Coquimbo region

FEMSA Salud Chile, the parent of pharmacy chains Cruz Verde, Maicao and Super Sana, distributed more than 12,000 hygiene and personal‑care items to families in the Coquimbo region after severe rains caused a weather emergency. The aid reached towns including Río Hurtado, Ovalle, Monte Patria and Illapel, and was coordinated with regional and local authorities.

During the delivery, FEMSA officials met with Río Hurtado mayor Carmen Juana Olivares, who thanked the company for its support to a population with a high proportion of older adults. Social‑development seremi Gonzalo Cortés highlighted the generosity of the group, noting that the supplies would also be sent to homes for the elderly, children and people with disabilities. Ignacio Choppelo, zonal manager for Cruz Verde in Atacama and Coquimbo, said the assistance is aimed at those most affected by the floods and reflects FEMSA’s commitment to community wellbeing.
