Femucic music festival returns to Maringá

The 47th Femucic – Festival de Música Cidade Canção is taking place in Maringá, organized by Sesc PR with support from the local government. The festival aims to promote Brazilian musical production through artistic exchange and cultural access.

Activities include a free opening concert by the Orquestra Jovem Sesc Paraná at Parque do Ingá on August 30. From August 31 to September 4, the festival will host musical training workshops focused on the choro style. Additionally, the 'Femucic nas Comunidades' initiative will bring performances to schools, squares, and companies throughout Maringá between August 31 and September 11.

The main showcase will feature 16 groups and 46 artists from ten Brazilian states, selected from approximately 1,500 original compositions. These performances will be held at the Sesc Maringá Theater from September 9 to 11, concluding with a performance by Banda Cucamonga at the Teatro Calil Haddad on September 12.
