FENACODEP celebrates 50th anniversary in Dominican Republic

The National Federation of Retail Provision Merchants (FENACODEP) celebrated its 50th anniversary in Santo Domingo. During the event, FENACODEP President Héctor Julio Nieves and the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, emphasized the need for increased government support for the retail sector.

Nieves highlighted the significant impact retailers have on the national economy but noted that the sector is currently struggling due to rising prices for essential goods. He also raised concerns regarding the practices of large supermarket chains, specifically mentioning white labeling and the use of the 'tarjeta solidaridad' in major retail outlets.

The anniversary ceremony included tributes to past presidents of the institution and was attended by various officials, including directors from Promipyme, Customs, and Supérate.
