Campo Grande launches free cultural heritage restoration workshops

Campo Grande will host Project Templum, a series of seven free workshops on the conservation, preservation and restoration of cultural heritage. The program runs from 28 July to 7 August and is funded by the Fundo Municipal de Investimentos Culturais (FMIC). Sessions are held at the Casa da Cultura and the Unigran Capital campus, each lasting 20 hours (12 hours on‑site and 8 hours remote).

The workshops target professionals, students and the interested public, aiming to expand technical expertise and support public policies for safeguarding historic assets in Mato Grosso do Sul. Leading specialists include museologist and restorer Caciano Lima, architect‑restorer Claudia La Picirelli, architect‑urbanist Viviane Maria de Freitas and filmmaker Mirineti Pinheiro, who will cover topics from art history and museology to façade painting, architectural restoration projects and heritage communication.

By providing practical training and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, Project Templum seeks to strengthen the region’s cultural‑heritage sector and preserve collective memory for future generations.
