Fenailp Turismo proposes October 1st school reopening
Fenailp Turismo has submitted a proposal to Italian institutions to postpone the start of the school year to October 1st. The federation argues that September has become a highly productive part of the tourism season, with high demand for seaside, mountain, and urban destinations.
National President Marco Sansiviero stated that the proposal does not seek to reduce instructional days but rather to reorganize the calendar to account for climate change and evolving national needs. He noted that many school buildings lack adequate cooling systems to handle the high temperatures often experienced in September.
In a related development regarding heat management, the President of the Campania region, Roberto Fico, has extended an ordinance to pause strenuous labor activities between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM to mitigate heat stress.
