Fenais da Ajuda: Family relocates due to rising housing costs

In Fenais da Ajuda, Mário Melo and Marina Rodrigues have relocated from Ponta Delgada to find more affordable housing. The move, driven by rising property costs in the city, has allowed the couple and their daughter, Aurora, to establish a new home and community.

The transition involved significant logistical challenges, including long daily commutes to manage childcare and work. The family's integration into the local community was highlighted during a recent religious meeting with the bishop, where the importance of family involvement in local community and faith life was discussed.
