Fenapepro denies abandoning Wander Franco

Erick Almonte, president of the National Federation of Professional Ballplayers (Fenapepro), has denied claims that the organization has abandoned Dominican shortstop Wander Franco. Almonte described the player's situation as “lamentable” and “difficult,” noting that the federation has maintained ongoing communication with Franco's representatives in the United States and his family members.

Almonte highlighted communication challenges, stating that Franco's agency has reportedly not held discussions with the Major League Baseball Players Association, the Baseball Commissioner, or the Tampa Bay Rays in the last three to four months. Fenapepro officials, including Vice President Esteban Germán, have been in contact with Franco's uncle, former professional player Erick Aybar, to better understand and manage the complex situation.
