Fenatracop joins Brazil Infrastructure Pact

The National Federation of Workers in Heavy Construction Industries (Fenatracop) has joined the Pacto Brasil pela Infraestrutura (Brazil Infrastructure Pact). The announcement was made during a seminar in Rio de Janeiro titled ‘Heavy Construction: Capital and Labor on the Same Project’.

Fenatracop, which represents 21 affiliated unions across various Brazilian states, aims to align worker interests with national development goals. The pact seeks to coordinate actions between governments, companies, and civil society to improve long-term planning, enhance the business environment, secure financing, and strengthen national engineering and human capital training.

Wilmar Santos, president of Fenatracop, stated that the move demonstrates how capital and labor can build a convergent agenda for national growth. He emphasized that defending workers involves advocating for investment, employment, and a strong heavy construction sector to create opportunities across all regions of Brazil.
