Fender debuts Silent System technology and addresses quality control

Fender has introduced the ‘Silent System,’ a new technology designed to eliminate the long-standing issue of single-coil pickup hum. Unlike previous noiseless pickup iterations, this is a passive, battery-free system built directly into the guitar under the pickguard. The technology debuts on Limited Edition American Professional Classic Stratocaster and Telecaster models, which feature vintage-inspired Coastline pickups.

Separately, Fender CEO Bud Cole addressed recent concerns regarding quality control. Acknowledging that standards may have been impacted by increased demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cole announced the ‘Fender 360’ program. This initiative aims to improve oversight at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Corona, California, and Ensenada, Mexico, by monitoring quality from the raw material stage through final inspection.
