Fendi revives historic Karl Lagerfeld exhibition in Rome

Fendi is revisiting a historic exhibition dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld at the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome. Titled "After Steps Through Work. Fendi / Karl Lagerfeld 1985," the exhibition serves as a tribute to Lagerfeld's 54-year collaboration with the fashion house, which was instrumental in defining its identity.

Curated by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the exhibition reimagines the original 1985 showcase, which had largely faded from public memory. Chiuri aims to create a "dialogue between generations" by exploring how the creative ideas from the original exhibition continue to resonate today.

The exhibition follows the creative process from conception to production, guiding visitors through thematic galleries such as sample boards, design frames, and sketches to reveal the research and experimentation behind the garments.
