Fenerbahçe agrees 24.5 million euro transfer for Sidiki Cherif to Coventry City
Fenerbahçe has reached an agreement with English club Coventry City for the transfer of 19-year-old French footballer Sidiki Cherif. The transfer is valued at a 24.5 million euro guaranteed fee.
As part of the deal, Fenerbahçe will retain a 10 percent share of any future profit generated from a subsequent sale of the player. Cherif has reportedly accepted a five-year contract offer and has traveled to England to undergo medical examinations before officially signing.
Fenerbahçe originally acquired Cherif from the French club Angers for a total of 22 million euros, which consisted of a 4 million euro loan fee and an 18 million euro mandatory purchase clause. The current sale represents a 2.5 million euro increase in guaranteed transfer revenue for the Turkish club.
