Fenerbahçe files legal complaint over fake Mason Greenwood transfer document

Fenerbahçe has initiated legal proceedings following the circulation of a document on social media claiming the transfer fee for Mason Greenwood was 50 million euros. The club has officially declared the document to be fake.

According to Fenerbahçe, the actual transfer fee for the English footballer was previously reported to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) as 39 million euros, to be paid in three equal installments over three years. The club emphasized that as a publicly traded company, providing accurate financial information to investors and the public is a critical responsibility.

The club has filed a criminal complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against those responsible for creating and spreading the forged document, as well as individuals who made false statements based on it. Former footballer and sports commentator Necati Ateş is among those named in the legal application for making inaccurate claims regarding the transfer costs.
