Fenerbahçe targets midfield reinforcements and tactical changes

Fenerbahçe is actively preparing for the January transfer window to strengthen its midfield and improve recent league performances. The club has identified several key targets, including Monaco’s 22-year-old Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara, who has a market value of approximately 40 million euros. Camara is considered a strategic option as he fits the league’s U23 foreign player regulations.

Other primary targets include Brighton’s Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari and Inter Milan’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The club aims to initiate official contact with player representatives during the upcoming international break to secure these signings for a reasonable fee.

On the pitch, technical director İsmail Kartal is planning significant squad rotations following recent poor results. Ahead of the match against Eyüpspor, Kartal is expected to bench several regular starters, including Matteo Guendouzi, Romelu Lukaku, and Kerem Aktürkoğlu, to increase competition and introduce new dynamics. Additionally, the coaching staff is considering moving Mason Greenwood into a more central ‘number 10’ role to boost offensive creativity.
