Feró Nagy denies receiving political funds and expresses fear of repercussions

Musician Feró Nagy has expressed fear of potential repercussions following recent controversies involving the National Cultural Fund (NKA). In an interview with Story Magazine, the Kossuth Prize winner stated that while he is not actively against the current system, he fears being punished if his actions are perceived as such, drawing parallels to his experiences under the Kádár regime when he faced police scrutiny for his expressions.

Nagy addressed allegations regarding the misuse of NKA funds, asserting that he has received no money from the government for campaigning or performing at political events. He specifically denied reports that he received 1.5 million forints to perform at a DPK event, calling the claims “nonsense.”

Regarding political figures, Nagy identified Gabika Tóth as the only person near Fidesz he finds credible. He also criticized musician Leslie Mándoki, expressing skepticism toward his recent political shifts and questioning why a former dissident would align with the current administration.
