Fercal to Get First Public Creche after Gov. Celina Leão Signs Partnership
Governor Celina Leão of Brazil’s Distrito Federal signed a technical cooperation agreement with cement firms Ciplan and Pedreira Contagem to build the first public nursery in the Fercal region. The project will be funded entirely with private resources—including materials, equipment and labor—and will be constructed on land provided by the Regional Administration of Fercal, which will also supervise the work.
The new creche aims to serve the area’s young families, benefiting the roughly 9,000‑10,000 residents of Fercal. Its inauguration coincided with the opening of a 2.7‑km paved stretch of DF‑205 West and the signing of service orders for further road works and the renovation of the Alto Bela Vista Community Center. Deputy Robério Negreiros (Podemos) attended the ceremony and highlighted the project as a historic advance for local families.
The initiative is part of a broader push to improve infrastructure, urbanisation and social services in Fercal, which is approaching its 70‑year anniversary.
