FERCATUR fair opens in Ciudad Real to promote hunting and tourism

The National Hunting, Fishing, and Tourism Fair (FERCATUR) has opened at the IFEDI complex in Ciudad Real, gathering professionals and enthusiasts to showcase the cinegetic, nature, and gastronomy sectors.

Local authorities, including the President of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, Miguel Ángel Valverde, have reaffirmed their support for the event, noting its role in generating employment and promoting rural tourism. The provincial government has allocated approximately 300,000 euros to the fair, covering organization and promotion. Additionally, Valverde announced that the execution project for the future Museum of Hunting and Nature (MUCANA) is complete, with construction expected to begin in 2027.

In Castilla-La Mancha, the government reports a 23% increase in demand for social hunting permits across nine managed sites. Officials highlighted efforts to make hunting more inclusive by reserving 15% of spots for women and youth under 30, as well as providing preferential access for people with disabilities. Organizations such as AFAMMER are also participating to highlight the growing role of women in rural tourism and hunting.
