Ferdinand Marcos Jr. commemorates father's 109th birth anniversary

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. commemorated the 109th birth anniversary of his father, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., on September 11. To mark the occasion, the President declared a special non-working holiday in the province of Ilocos Norte.

Marcos Jr. traveled to the family's home province to lead commemorative activities, including attending a Mass at the Immaculate Conception Parish and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Marcos Monument in Batac City. In a social media tribute, the President expressed gratitude for the lessons learned from his father, specifically citing the values of duty, honor, and country.

Ferdinand Marcos Sr. served as the 10th president of the Philippines from 1965 until he was removed from power during the 1986 Edsa uprising. He passed away in Honolulu in 1989.
