Ferdinand Nokaj identified after body found near Adige River

The body of Ferdinand Nokaj, a 25-year-old psychology student of Albanian origin, has been identified after being found lifeless on the banks of the Adige River near Grumo. The discovery follows his disappearance from Rovereto on August 30.

Before his disappearance, Nokaj informed his family that he had been attacked by several individuals in Rovereto. His final communication with his brother via WhatsApp occurred at 19:16 on August 30, where he replied “Ende gjallë” (Still alive) to an inquiry about his well-being.

Although his body was found on September 5, his family was unable to identify him for several weeks. His father eventually recognized him on September 25 at the Santa Chiara hospital morgue by his facial features and a chest tattoo.

The Prosecutor's Office in Trento has opened an investigation into the circumstances of his death, currently categorized as incitement to suicide against unknown persons. An autopsy is expected to clarify whether an assault played a role in his death.
