Ferdy Sambo's lawyer denies luxury housing claims at Cibinong Prison

Legal counsel for Ferdy Sambo has denied allegations that the former police official is enjoying luxury housing at the Cibinong Class IIA Prison in Bogor. The controversy arose following an inspection by the Indonesian Ombudsman, which identified several buildings with facilities resembling private residences within the prison complex.

Attorney Arman Hanis clarified that Sambo is currently serving his sentence in Block A 2.5, sharing a cell with other inmates. Hanis emphasized that Sambo is subject to standard prison regulations and does not have access to special housing. He further stated that all meetings with family members and legal counsel take place in designated visitation areas according to standard procedures, rather than in the luxury buildings highlighted by the Ombudsman.

The West Java Directorate General of Corrections has also reportedly stated that there is no evidence to suggest Sambo is occupying or benefiting from the luxury facilities in question.
