Ferencváros advances to Europa League play-offs after beating Górnik Zabrze

Ferencváros has advanced to the UEFA Europa League play-off round after defeating Górnik Zabrze with a 2-1 aggregate score. Following a 1-0 win in the first leg, the second match in Poland ended in a 1-1 draw, secured by an 83rd-minute own goal from Michal Sacek.

Górnik Zabrze manager Michal Gasparik expressed disappointment, noting that while his team dominated much of the match and controlled the play, a single error cost them their chance at the league phase. Górnik will now move to the fourth qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, where they are scheduled to face AS Monaco.

Ferencváros moves on to face Turkish side Trabzonspor in the Europa League play-offs, scheduled for August 20 and 27. Ferencváros coach Balázs Borbély stated that while the team's performance was not optimal, particularly in the first half, the result was the priority to ensure continued European competition.
