Ferencváros signs Serbian winger Veljko Birmancevic

Ferencváros has officially announced the signing of Serbian winger Veljko Birmancevic from Czech side Sparta Praha. The 28-year-old, who has earned 17 caps for the Serbian national team, has reportedly signed a 3+1 year contract with the Hungarian club.

Birmancevic brings extensive international experience to the squad, having played for Malmö in Sweden, Toulouse in France, and most recently Getafe in Spain on loan. During his tenure at Sparta Praha, he was highly productive, contributing to 58 goals in 109 appearances, including a standout 2023/24 season where he recorded 22 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

The transfer follows significant interest from other major clubs, including reports that Galatasaray was prepared to offer approximately 10 million euros for the player. Birmancevic stated that he joined the club because of its winning mentality and ambition to secure trophies.
