Ferencváros supporters attacked in Zabrze, Poland
A group of Ferencváros football supporters was attacked by masked individuals in a pizzeria in Zabrze, Poland, ahead of a Europa League qualifying match against Górnik Zabrze. The incident, which lasted approximately eight minutes, involved attackers breaking windows and storming the establishment while victims attempted to barricade themselves inside.
One Hungarian supporter sustained a serious injury, specifically a broken shin, and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Zabrze. Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán condemned the violence, stating that sporting events should be shared experiences and never venues for aggression.
Polish police have identified and questioned suspects involved in the incident. While Hungarian citizens were also questioned by authorities, no formal charges have been filed by the victims at this time. The Hungarian Consulate remains in contact with local police and both football clubs to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of arriving supporters.
