Feria de Jocotenango returns to Guatemala City

The traditional Feria de Jocotenango is being held in Guatemala City from August 8 to 16, 2026. Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the city's relocation to the Valle de la Ermita, the event features 219 food stalls and 87 attractions, including mechanical rides like the Chicago wheel. Admission to the fair is free, though food and rides require separate payment.

The Municipality of Guatemala has established a parking plan to accommodate visitors, offering free spaces at Avenida Simeón Cañas and the Universidad Mariano Gálvez campus in zone 2, subject to availability.

Regarding the weather for the August 15-16 holiday weekend, Insivumeh predicts warm daytime temperatures followed by afternoon and evening rains or drizzle accompanied by electrical activity. While daytime highs in some regions may reach 39°C, Guatemala City is expected to see maximums between 24°C and 30°C.
