Puebla launches second International Book Fair with 100+ publishers

The second edition of the Puebla International Book Fair (FILIP) 2026 has launched, running from August 14 to 23. The event features over 300 free activities, including book presentations, workshops, and theater performances, hosted at locations such as the Zócalo, the City Theater, and the UDLAP Art Chapel.

Mayor Pepe Chedraui noted that the fair includes more than 100 national and international publishing houses and features Spain as the guest of honor. The initiative aims to promote literacy and social peace through cultural access, aligning with federal and state government goals.

Additionally, cultural developments in the region include the upcoming 'Puebla en Los Pinos' festival in Mexico City, showcasing the state's traditions, and plans for a major cultural festival in Puebla by November 2027, intended to rival the scale of the Cervantino Festival.
