Ferland Mendy to face trial over dog attack incident
Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy is scheduled to stand trial in Madrid on December 21 regarding an incident involving his dogs. The legal proceedings stem from an event on January 4, 2023, when four of the player's dogs escaped from his property after a gate was left unsecured.
According to prosecutors, the animals attacked a woman and her dog, as well as a 17-year-old male who attempted to assist. The teenager required surgical treatment and received 30 stitches for leg wounds. Additionally, one of the attacked animals had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.
The prosecution has noted that the dogs lacked microchips, mandatory civil liability insurance, and rabies vaccinations. Mendy faces a requested fine of 1,200 euros and total compensation of 5,700 euros for the victims.
