FERMA begins road safety maintenance in Ondo State

The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has launched a maintenance programme along the Owo–Ikare–Arigidi–Ekiti State border road in Ondo State. The initiative, part of the Routine and Preventive Maintenance Works Programme (RPMWP), involves clearing overgrown vegetation, desilting drainage channels, and removing refuse from road shoulders between Chainage 4+000 and 32+000.

According to Kenneth Yanum, the Federal Road Maintenance Engineer for the Ondo State Field Office, the project aims to improve motorist visibility, prevent pavement damage from standing water, and reduce potential hiding spots for criminals. The one-month programme has also provided temporary employment for approximately 50 individuals from local host communities.
