Fermata Auto app bypasses Android Auto video restrictions
Android Auto blocks third‑party video applications for safety reasons. The open‑source Fermata Auto player, together with the Android Auto Apps Downloader (AAAD), lets users install and run video‑capable apps such as YouTube, IPTV playlists and local media on the vehicle’s display. The duo works without rooting the phone, using an external installer to add unsupported apps to Android Auto’s interface.
Installation steps include downloading the AAAD APK from its official GitHub page, granting permission for unknown sources, and then adding the Fermata Auto APK. Users are warned to watch videos only when the vehicle is parked to avoid distraction while driving.
