Fermo province nears completion of community health houses in six towns

The regional health‑care programme in the province of Fermo is in an advanced stage, with construction of community houses (Case di Comunità) essentially finished in five municipalities – Porto Sant’Elpidio, Montegranaro, Sant’Elpidio a Mare, Montegiorgio and Petritoli. The only site still under work is Porto San Giorgio, where final works are scheduled to be completed by the end of August adjacent to the rehabilitative pool.

Regional councilor Milena Sebastiani reported that agreements with general practitioners are being finalised and further investments are planned to expand the ambulatory network, including additional extensions in Montegranaro and Porto Sant’Elpidio. An extra module of 20 beds has been funded for Montegiorgio, and the province has secured two more community houses than originally planned – Montegiorgio and Porto Sant’Elpidio. An information campaign for citizens is set to launch before year‑end to explain the functions and access to the new facilities.

Assessor Paolo Calcinaro confirmed in the regional council that the project follows the timetable defined by the Marche region, while assessor Francesco Baldelli highlighted the role of these structures in easing pressure on hospitals and emergency departments.
