Fermo strengthens public security with new police and road safety checks
Law enforcement efforts in the Fermo region have seen both personnel reinforcements and intensified road safety operations. Seventeen new police officers have joined the Fermo Police Headquarters to strengthen territorial control, crime prevention, and public security, particularly in response to local requests for increased presence in areas prone to micro-criminality.
Simultaneously, Carabinieri patrols in Fermo and Montegiorgio conducted weekend road safety checks, resulting in eight individuals being reported to judicial authorities for driving under the influence. Notable incidents included a 52-year-old driver with a blood alcohol level exceeding 1.50 g/l and several individuals who refused mandatory breathalyzer tests. Several drivers had their licenses revoked and vehicles impounded during these operations.
