Fernanda Iannone announces independent candidacy for CSM

Fernanda Iannone, a counselor at the Naples Court of Appeal, has announced her candidacy for the High Council of the Judiciary (CSM) as an independent. Running without affiliation to any organized associative groups, Iannone describes her position as both autonomous and independent.

Iannone stated that her decision stems from observing a growing fatigue among magistrates regarding the current system of organized factions, or ‘correnti’. She argues that organized membership can act as an identity constraint that impacts career dynamics and self-governance, potentially compromising the freedom and independence required of a magistrate.

Regarding recent legislative changes, Iannone noted that the Cartabia law had already significantly modified the electoral system to allow for individual candidacies, making constitutional changes for the same purpose unnecessary.
