Fernanda Iglesias discloses borderline personality disorder diagnosis

Journalist Fernanda Iglesias has publicly disclosed her diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. Speaking on the program ‘Puro Show’ on El Trece, Iglesias shared how psychiatric treatment has transformed her daily life after years of emotional difficulties.

Iglesias revealed that she began treatment at age 53, noting that a lack of timely diagnosis during her youth impacted her professional performance and interpersonal relationships. She described her past self as being ‘conflictive’ and having difficulty connecting with others due to the condition.

Emphasizing the importance of early detection, Iglesias encouraged younger generations to seek professional help promptly. She stated, ‘If I had treated it as a child, my life would not have been so chaotic,’ adding that those currently struggling should know that ‘it is possible to live better’ with proper care.
