Fernando Alonso expresses preference for daytime Formula 1 races

Following the Singapore Grand Prix, Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso shared his preference for daytime races over night races. While acknowledging that modern lighting at circuits like Marina Bay makes little difference to driving performance, Alonso noted that race schedules are primarily driven by television broadcasting needs in Europe and the United States.

Alonso explained that night races create logistical challenges for drivers, stating that the days feel excessively long and that it becomes too late to fly home after the event concludes. He suggested that daytime races are preferable for personal and scheduling reasons.
