Fernando Alonso secured an eighth-place finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, marking his best result of the 2026 season. The race was characterized by severe weather conditions and widespread software issues affecting multiple cars.

Following the race, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri reacted to Alonso's performance over the radio, referring to the Aston Martin driver as the “master of chaos” after learning of his position. This result follows previous top-ten finishes for Alonso in Monaco and the Netherlands.

Alonso has confirmed he will remain with Aston Martin for the 2027 Formula 1 season. Additionally, reports from the paddock suggest he may prepare for a return to the Dakar Rally in 2027.
