Curaçao overcomes 3-0 deficit to defeat Costa Rica 4-3

Curaçao secured a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory against Costa Rica in their CONCACAF Nations League debut at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. Costa Rica dominated the first half, leading 3-0 thanks to an Orlando Sinclair goal and a brace from Carlos Mora.

In the second half, Curaçao manager Dick Advocaat made decisive substitutions, bringing on Tahith Chong, Kenji Gorré, and Jordi Paulina. The trio transformed the match; Gorré and Chong scored to close the gap, and Paulina secured the win with a goal in the 83rd minute.

The defeat has placed Costa Rica's manager, Fernando Batista, under scrutiny. Players noted that a tactical shift from a four-defender to a five-defender system in the second half caused confusion and was not sufficiently practiced. Batista has taken responsibility for the result, noting that the team lost control of the midfield following the changes.
