Fernando Belzunce discusses journalism's future in Rosario

During the 13th edition of the ‘Innovation, Technology, and Journalism’ cycle in Rosario, Fernando Belzunce, General Editorial Director of Vocento, discussed the impact of technology and artificial intelligence on the journalism industry. Belzunce addressed the challenges posed by algorithms, disinformation, and shifting news consumption habits in a polarized environment.

He emphasized that the future of media depends on credibility rather than content volume. Belzunce stated that the primary challenge for journalists is ensuring their work carries significance and that “a society can survive uncertainty, crisis, or conflict, but it can hardly endure the disappearance of truth as a shared reference.”

The event was hosted by Personal as part of its Redacciones5G program. Pedro López Matheu, Personal’s Director of External Communications, Sustainability, and Media, noted that the initiative aims to support the evolution of journalism by providing technological tools and promoting continuous training to foster a more sustainable and innovative media ecosystem.
